Welcome to Flight Plan — I’m glad you’re here.
For those of you who don’t know me well, I’ve always had a passion for building. Whether it be legos as a kid, assembling sports teams to compete in tournaments as a teenager, or finding my passion in early stage startups as an adult, building something always had a spark. Over the years, I’ve learned some valuable lessons and foundational best practices when it comes to building high functioning GTM teams.
I started this newsletter for early-stage founders as a guide to help along your journey.
We’re closing some deals… but I can’t explain why, and I don’t trust that it’ll keep working.
If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.
I’ve been working for AND with early stage founders for decades now, and have seen both successes and failures. Most founders don’t fail at sales because they aren’t working hard enough. They fail because they’re flying without a clear plan — reacting deal by deal, hire by hire, experiment by experiment.
Flight Plan exists to fix that.
Each week, I’ll share:
What I’ve experienced breaking (and working) in early-stage sales
Why pipelines feel random even when deals are closing
Practical moves to go from founder-led heroics to a repeatable sales motion
Everything here is grounded in what actually matters when you’re pre-seed to Series A and trying to make revenue predictable for the first time. And that’s because I’ve been there!
When it makes sense, I’ll also mention how I work with founders inside Revenue Pilot, and share some real stories and interviews from the field.
For now, two quick favors:
1). Hit reply and tell me where you’re stuck with sales right now. I read every response and it helps shape what I write next.
2). Share this newsletter with a colleague, friend, or revenue enthusiast. Let me know if you do, and I’ll send along some cool swag!
Welcome aboard ✈️
